"For Friday" Q&A #3

"For Friday" Q&A #3

TheEPROM9  - Is there any course or subject you regret (or wish you had taken up) not taking up back in education?
For me it is A-level maths, university has changed my attitude to maths and it would have given me slightly more choice as well as made certain aspects of the course I did much essayer.

ScribbleSamAnimation -
1 - Would you say "For Friday" is the new "Friday Talkie"?

2 - Have you ever played with a Rubik's Cube and solved it?

3 - What are your opinions on Weird Al Yankovic?

4 - Are you interested in learning Japanese and/or any other language?

FiXato - For Friday: if you had to sell or otherwise get rid off, 10 (or whichever arbitrary number you fancy) systems in your collection, which would those be, and why?
(For instance because they are taking up too much space, would yield the most money, offers/offered the least enjoyment, etc.)

Sleven324 - Is there a system that you don't have that you would like to get.

MrBuck295 - For Friday
I guess I should have asked (knowing all your consoles are retro ,my stupidity sorry)
what console do you play the most and what game do you play the most even if the game is on a different console
Thanks in advance

Chris James -  for friday....this is a bit of a complex and philosophical question, but i would be interested to hear your answer...i have my own opinion and will answer it myself once you have...

i gather you are not enamoured with modern console gaming partly due to technical issues but also because there is nothing significantly new in the medium...do you think theres nothing new due to commercial pressures, due to hardware limitations, due to a lack of imagination, due to the fact that the existing games are selling therefore there's no need for anything new, or some other reason?

Panini MattGFC1893 - For Friday. Do you think it time to set the record straight and say ET on Atari 2600 is not the worst game ever.Hi tech expression must be the worst games company of all time there games are just so poor and unplayable It unreal .My worst game of all time is Spice World on the Playstation one knocking Bride-it on Amstard CPC to the no.2 spot.So Sir Steve Benway what is your choice for worst game ever.

therangersrule68 - For next friday: what was your biggest case of buyer's remorse with a console or computer?

MrBuck295 - For Friday (hope this one has not been asked )
Have you now or ever thought about getting insurance for your equipment ,in case of fire or theft

Snestastic  -
1) Which is your favourite Joystick & why?

2) Age old question, commodore/speccy or Amstrad?

3) Is the c64 gs worth the money?

4) What has been the most seminal moment for you during your gaming career?

lilacfloyd - For Friday.
If you could go back in time for one day what year would you go back to and what would you do? The time travelling rules are up to you.
Like you my favourite film is Blade Runner but I've never read the book it was based on. Have you read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

Markis5150 - Question for you. When Pac-Man released in arcades in 1980 what was your take on it? Did you like the game? Was it massively popular there?

"For Friday" - Q&A #1

"For Friday" - Q&A #1

Fawltykog - For Friday... What is your favourite FALL Lp?

FiXato - For Friday Q&A:
With console games and the consoles itself now requiring software updates and perhaps even hardware upgrades in the form of new hard disks and peripherals, as well as not really needing physical media and relying on external servers, and PCs requiring less frequent hardware upgrades, you could say the borders between console and pc gaming are fading away. Does this make you reconsider your opposition to PC gaming, or rather, what keeps you from pc gaming?

Shaun George - For Friday: your house is on fire and you only have time to save one system and three of its games. Which system, which games, and why?

musicmaniac1965 - For Friday Q&A:
As you know, i follow your channel a long time. I am curious about just one thing: It's obvious you are really good at Gran Turismo games. But there must have been a time you also had to learn this game. If you liked a new different brand racer, would you be able to practice and get equally good at it as you did with Gran Turismo, or is there a speciffic reason you only play this racer?

GigerPunk - For Friday: Driving music, yes or no? If yes, what do you like to go for? (Obviously, depends on mood a lot of time, but what would be your favourite driving tunes?)

lilacfloyd - For Friday. With the PS5 and the next Xbox rumoured to be released around 2020ish. Is that too late? When do you think the next generation of consoles should be released, what with 4K and other new technologies that are imminent?

Gabbo! - For Friday Q&A. I know this is a broad question but what are some of your expectations for GT7? i.e better sound, more or less cars?

Hugh James Cooksley - What game/console have you had for the longest period of time? E.g I still have the same gameboy colour my mum bought when I was 7 in 2003.

TheRetrospective81 - For Friday, how come you never go to the really big Play event in Manchester every year? Would you ever go in the future or do you prefer the smaller, more initmate events like the events at Blackpool etc??

Andy Hilton  - Hi Steve a question for Friday, do you think the current gen consoles will be the last as we know it and next gen games will just be streamed through tv by subscription? And another one what do you think Facebook will do with the Oculus Rift?

Dixie Pickles - For Friday - As remakes of games are so popular these days. Which retro game would you like to see being remade and why?

Dave Webster - For Friday: other than cost, what would be the deciding factor for taking the plunge and going for one of the new consoles in the future?

Installing GT6 with 12 Updates from scratch when in-game update fails.

Installing GT6 with 12 Updates from scratch when in-game update fails.

Many people (myself included) have had a problem with installing updates on Gran Turismo 6 when starting from scratch. After putting the disk in, it insists on installing 12 (at the time of making this video) updates, which are downloaded, one after another, and then installed in one go. Sadly, at the end of the installation, it gives an error message, and the installation fails. After some investigation, I've come across a suggested remedy, which is what you see here. You can probably stop watching after the first 5 minutes or so, as you'll have the idea, and only those interested in random Benway rambling need continue watching.

DIY Virtual Reality on 7" Android Tablet

DIY Virtual Reality on 7" Android Tablet

I take you on a journey into Virtual Reality... or something. This is a DIY project where, through trial and error, and inspired by the likes of Oculus Rift and Google Cardboard, I make a virtual reality headset using a 7 inch Android tablet. Other items used include a cycling helmet, two pairs of +3.5 strength reading classes, several cardboard boxes, a lot of duct tape, a PS3 joypad, an elastic belt, and a car cleaning sponge.
